Push multi-factor authentication for Evidian Web Access Manager

Evidian Authenticator is the authentication client application for Evidian Web Access Manager. It supports Evidian push authentication, authentication without scanning QR Code networks (QRentry), and HOTP/TOTP 2nd Factor authentication (OATH), supported by major web applications on the internet.

Supported authentication modes:

• Offline QREntry QR Codes: by scanning the QR codes and manually entering the decoded answer.

• Push authentication, after logging in to a secured Web Access Manager web application. WAM can be on-premise, without a direct connection from the mobile device or in the cloud or as a service. WAM as an identity provider supports multi-factor push authentication (MFA) considered a high level of authentication.

• Identification, without entering the user's name, analyzing the QR code identification. Authentication is then performed using transparent back-end authentication, immediately after the user has been identified by WAM as a service provider or as an identity provider.

• HOTP/TOTP one-time password. Seeds can be inserted manually or more conveniently by scanning QR codes provided by web applications. More than 400 icons and links to well-known applications are preconfigured. HOTP/TOTP accounts can be exported as plain text, JSON, and password-protected JSON and encrypted in AES256, re-importable in Evidian Authenticator.

Keys and registered accounts are protected:

• For an app-managed PIN, independent of mobile protection

• Fingerprint, Samsung fingerprint controllers and 6+ Android generic drivers are supported

• Additionally, one or more NFC tags can be used to reinforce the protection of the application (NFC smart card, NFC token or simple zip, NFC bracelets, NFC rings...). NFC protection depends on the presence of an NFC reader on the cell phone.

Messages and notifications:

When push authentication is used with Evidian Web Access Manager, any change to the user profile in WAM generates a confirmation notification in Evidian Authenticator (PIBR). All uses of accounts or keys are tracked and maintained in the Evidian Authenticator history.
